My compy died this morning, apparently of motherboard related issues. Compy was born in 2004, the result of an 18th birthday present from my parents. It served faithfully for many years, despite having every single internal component replaced at some point or another.
Compy is survived by me, who now doesn't have a dang computer.

Sadness... will there be any organ harvesting, or are you completely out to sea?

It's mostly harvestable. Mobo seems to be the mainly shot part. It starts up, but it doesn't even get to post. So, yeah, it seems like I should be able to pull most of the components. I'll probably buy a barebones kit and fill it in with my components.

Your lucky, when my Alien died at christmas none of the components were selvageable. I'm still looking into replacement.

What you need is a boss who owns too many computers and then gives you one because 'it's all dusty'. Hello all.
Also, as a side note: Leah's brother got my season one of Ducktales and Darkwing Duck for our wedding gift.
